My Holiday...

Hahah. Well first, I would like to congratulate people with the NEW YEAR! Whoo. Hope all your wishes come true and that we would become better friends.
Well my first week was boring, I had nothing to do, no news...the second week my dad came and we went to Koreatown in LA.
My first reaction: Oh my god! The buildings have Hangul on them! (yes, I know, how smart of me.) We are officially in Koreatown! YEAH!
We were there for two days. We found an inn to say in, and then my sister and I ran to the center plaza. I, of course, went there to find me some DBSK goodness. I practically screamed/squeaked when I saw their poster in the music shop. Didn't really buy anything, because I already had all of the songs and I am somewhat boycotting SM, but I couldn't resist their 'The 2nd Asia Tour Concert "O"' So of course, I made my sister buy it.
Then we went into a bookstore and bought a workbook to learn to read Hangul and some other basic Korean Words. I, being a DBSK fan, tried to write DBSK, and their Ki character was written as Gi, and the Shin part came out as Seen, but I was okay with that...my Korean friend explained. So...catching up to Korean, though my Japanese is not even perfected. GAH!
Ate some Korean food...the meat was delicious. I ate BiBimBab (?) I think, and my sister drank the Kimchi soup. (I can't tolerate spicy so I did not join her) I ate sweets there too, so I am not surprised I got some extra pounds...can't wait to get back to school. Got a free ticket to take a photo with a decorated tree (yay for me). The shopkeepers were happy that I wanted to learn Korean. :D
Then we went home, and my dad went back to NYC, and my mom brought us to Japantown.
She and her friend went to Macy's and because my sister and I were left to our own devices we went to look around some more. I wanted a DBSK poster, so I went into a shop, but they were sold out. At first I was dissapointed, but then I figured they were popular so why the hell cry about it? (proud fan) Then I went into Kinokuniya to look for magazines with them...nada, zilch, zero. I kept seeing Arashi so my face was "D:" where are they? ;.; So I took my miserable $30 and spent them on a cute Japanese notepad with a Jewel Cat, 3 pens, and two erasers with peach/strawberry smell.
Then I went back to that store and it was time to leave, and guess what? I found magazines with them on it. I spazzed, then cried because I spent all my money on Strawberry Pocky and other things...there was even a book with all the piano parts for 2009 popular songs...They had the "Colors Melody and Harmony" and the song from their Pinky (which was delicious) CM. D: We had to leave. (I didnt even get to do PuriKura...so that was dissapointing) Oh well. Maybe this year. I also got my TVXQ hoodie after we came back from KT, and it is gorgeous!!!!!!!! ;D
Hope I can order their single Break Out! and their Best of album. <333
Oh god, I watched Xiahtic...and I will never look at Junsu as an innocent cutie. *Q*

*sigh* Stupid Speeches >.>

I have a speech to give soon. I chose an informational speech about DBSK. This is what I have so far: (it is supposed to be 5-7 minutes, I don't know about mine)

'Rising Gods of the East'

Materials:

-Dong Bang Shin Ki’s Poster

-Poster with quotes from various people and their awards

Introduction- Did anybody in here started doing something that led to unpredictable paths? Did your ‘identity’ change to something new because of that decision?  I certainly did. I am going to inform you about an Asian group called Dong Bang Shin Ki or Rising Gods of the East. Why are they important to me? Well, I was able to embrace another culture, and be able to make more connections. I became more open, more social, after learning about them and listening to their songs. I was able to like Korean and Japanese Pop music instead of just Japanese Rock. My Japanese improved and I started learning Korean. I have also engaged myself in discussions and giving my own opinions. In short, they had positive influence on me.

Body- Inform the audience about:

                 - Their titles:

-Dong Bang Shin Ki (동방신) in Korean, Tohoshinki (東方神) in Japanese, Dong Fang Shen Qi in Mandarin and Tong Vfang Xien Qi in Cantonese.

                 - The members:

-Kim (Hero/Youngwoong) Jaejoong: -Born in January 26, 1986.

                                        -Singer-songwriter, composer and occasional actor.

-Jung (U-Know) Yunho : -Born in February 6, 1986

                                           -Singer and occasional actor.

-Park (Micky) Yoochun: -Born in June 4, 1986

                                           -Singer-songwriter, composer, and occasional actor.

-Kim (Xiah) Junsu- Born in December 15, 1986

                                            -Singer-songwriter, composer and occasional actor.

-Shim (Max/Choikang)- Born in February 18, 1988

                                             -Singer, songwriter and occasional actor

                 - Their entertainment Companies

-Debuted in 2003 under SM Entertainment, and in 2005 under Avex sub-label Rhythm Zone.

                 - Their achievements

-TVXQ became the fifth non-Japanese Asian artist and the first male foreign group to have a number-one single on the Oricon chart.

The Oricon Charts represent the official statistics of the singles sold in Japan.

-Became the first foreign artists to have three singles debut atop the chart.

-In 2009 became the first foreign artists to have six number-one singles on the Oricon.

-In 2008, TVXQ made it in the Guinness World Records for having the world's largest official fan club. In 2009, they made the record as the most photographed celebrity in the world.

-List of awards.

Conclusion-As you can see Dong Bang Shin Ki is amazing. They have won many awards, and have persevered the language barrier, or their personal “brick wall” when they came to Japan, thus earning them respect. They also stay together, and distribute their voices equally throughout the songs. I would like win a position in an Oricon chart just like them. I also hope to perfect my languages just like how they are trying to best their Japanese. I look forward to their achievements that will influence me positively again. In addition, I wish them and everyone else happiness and success wherever they go.

Rhetorical Devices:

-When describing Yunho, I would use an antistrophe:

When people ask the leader of the group something the answer always has something do with one thing—Dong Bang Shin Ki, for example, who is his family? Dong Bang Shin Ki. With whom would he want to go to Paris again? With Dong Bang Shin Ki. With whom would he want to spend the rest of his life together? With Dong Bang Shin Ki.

-After explaining that Cassiopeia is their fandom, I would use an anaphora:

The members constantly remember their Korean Fans. They would say things like “Cassiopeia this award is for you! Cassiopeia is the reason we live on. Cassiopeia we are back! And lastly, they would say: Cassiopeia, thank you so much for your support!”

-I would use Junsu’s quote which uses a hyperbole:

“Yoochun’s forehead is wide enough to play soccer on it.”

I would be very happy if people pointed out my mistakes.

Barajou No Kiss

HOLY SCHMOLLY MACARONI! I swore off reading new manga, but seeing the guys in this manga I can't help but squeal in happiness. This manga is by Shouoto Aya. All of them are downright delicious, so you can guess I like her drawing style. *Q*
Really.
Me likes the guy in the white, heheh he is supposed be a junior in that girl's school. While I don't like manga that are too farfetched, and this one certainly is, I think I am going to read it just for seeing those guys bat their eyelashes. *Q* The farfetched part is where the girl's "punishment" for taking off her "special" collar is getting her knights. I don't know why that counts as a punishment. My money is on the guy with the black hair, in the faaaaaaaaaaaaaaaarrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr left.
I will take the junior, thank you very much.
nom nom nom nom nom.
